Love is shown by precious things;
Silver, gold, and diamond rings.

Love is shown by luscious treats;
Chocolate that's good to eat.

Love is shown by fragrent flowers;
Grown by sun and April showers.

Love is shown by special nights;
Kisses in the pale moon light.

Love is shown by greeting cards;
With poems by the famous bards.

But if wealth does not abound,
And worthy treats could not be found.
Perchance, bouquets are not in bloom,
And cloudy skies conceal the moon.
No sentimental card to read,
Then love alone is all you need.

I wrote this for my wife, on her birthday in 2022. I guess she liked it, as she posted it on our refrigerator. So I thought I'd share it, in case you have someone special that you'd like to give it to.
